කොල්ලෝ, කෙල්ලෝ හැටියට එදිනෙදා ජීවිතයේදී අපට ඇති වන දාහක් ප්‍රශ්න වලට Face කරනවද ? එහෙමත් නැත්නම් Facebook කරනවද ?



Mark Elliot Zuckerberg නම් පුංචි කොළු ගැටයා, එයාගේ යාළුවෝ කණ්ඩායම එක්ක එකතු වෙලා Facebook ලෝකෙට හඳුන්වලා දෙන විට , එයින් මේ තරම් බලපෑමක් වෙයි කියලා හීනෙකින් වත් හිතන්න නැතිව ඇති. කවුරු , මොනවා කීවත් Facebook කියන්නේ මේ වන විට ලෝකයේ තියෙන ජනප්‍රිය ම Social Network එකක්. Facebook වගේ ම Mark Elliot Zuckerberg ගැනත් මේ වන විට ලෝකයේ නොදන්න කෙනෙක් නැහැ. තමුන්ගේ Girl Friend එක්ක ඇති වුණු පුංචි ම පුංචි ආරවුලක් දුර දිග යෑමේ ප්‍රතිඵලයක් විදිහට Mark අතින් නිර්මාණ වුණ Facebook, අද වන විට ලෝකයේ පෙම්වතුන් බොහෝ දෙනා අතර ආරවුල් ඇති කරන මහා හිසරදයක් වෙලා තියෙනවා. ඒත් Facebook fans ලා නම් කියන්නේ එය යාළු-මිත්‍රකම් ගොඩනගා ගැනීමට උපකාරී වන තෝතැන්නක් බවයි.



Facebook ගැන සමාජයේ Positive වගේ ම Negative අදහස් ද පැතිරිලා තියෙනවා. කාළය කා දමන, පවුල් ආරවුල් වැඩි කරන, මානසික ආතතිය ඇතිකරන, පුද්ගලික ජීවිත වලට වෙනත් ඕනෑම කෙනෙකුට ඇඟිලි ගහන්න අවස්ථාව හදලා දෙන දෙයක් විදිහට එක පිරිසක් විසින් Facebook හඳුන්වනවා. Jason Lee නම් කාටුන් ශිල්පියා ඇඳි මේ කාටුන් එකෙන් Facebook නිසා ඇති වී තියෙන negative තත්වයන් පෙන්නුම් කරලා තියෙනවා. ඒත් Facebook කියන්නේ මානසික ආතතිය අඩු කරන, සමාජ සම්බන්ධතා වැඩි කරන, මිනිසුන්ගේ අදහස් ප්‍රකාශ කිරීමේ අයිතිය තහවුරු කරන දෙයක් විදිහට දකින පිරියකුත් ඉන්නවා.

අද වනවිට තමුන්ගේ හැඟීම් ප්‍රකාශ කිරීමට තියෙන හොඳම තැන වෙලා තියෙන්නේ Facebook එකයි. තමුන්ගේ Girl Friend හෝ Boy Friend තරහා වුණා ම , රාජකාරී කරන තැන ප්‍රශ්නයක් ඇති වුණාම, විභාගයට පාඩම් කරලා වෙහෙසට පත් වුණා ම ඇති වන හැඟීම් Facebook එකේ තමුන්ගේ status හැටියට පල කරන අවස්ථා අනන්තවත් අපට දැක ගන්න ලැබෙනවා. ඒ වගේ ම තමුන්ගේ ජීවිතයේ සතුටුදායක ආරංචි, ජයග්‍රහණ ආදියත් Facebook හරහා අනිත් අයට දන්වන අයත් ඕනෑ තරම් ඉන්නවා. මේ සියල්ලටම වඩා තමුන්ගේ අතිශය පෞද්ගලික තොරතුරුත් කිසිම බයක් , සැකක්, ලැජ්ජාවක් නැතිව Facebook හරහා ලෝකෙටම පේන්න දාන අයත් දකින්න ලැබෙනවා. කොහොම වුණත් කෙනෙක් ගේ පුද්ගලික ජීවිතය මේ විදිහට අනිත් අයත් එක්ක බෙදා ගැනීම මොන තරම් දුරට හොඳ වැඩක් ද කියලා හිතලා බලනවා නම් තමයි වඩාත් සුදුසු. ප්‍රශ්නයක් ඇති වුණාම ඒ ප්‍රශ්නයට මුහුණ නොදී, තමුන්ට ප්‍රශ්නයක් තියෙනවා කියලා Facebook එකේ දාලා වැඩක් නැහැ. Facebook වලින් හුවමාරු කර ගන්න ඕනෙ තමුන්ගේ මොන තොරතුරුද කියලා අවබෝධයෙන් වැඩ කරනවා නම් Facebook හරහා ප්‍රශ්න ඇති වීම ගොඩාක් දුරට වලක්වා ගන්න පුළුවන්. අවසානයේ අප තේරුම් ගත යුත්තේ Facebook හොඳ හෝ නරක වෙන්නේ අපි එය පාවිච්චි කරන විදිහ අනුව බවයි.

ෆේස්බුක් තුලින් ඇතිවූ පෙම නිසා ගුරුවරිය අමාරුවේ

අගලවත්ත ප්‍රදේශයේ ගුරුවරියක විසින් ෆේස්බුක් සමාජ ජාල වෙබ් අඩවිය හරහා ඇතිකරගත් කෙටි පෙම් සම්බන්දතාවයක් නිසා කරදරයට පත්ව ඇත.
වාර්තා වන පරිදි සිද්දිය මෙසේය.

මෙම ගුරුවරිය විසින් පෞද්ගලික මාධ්‍යය ආයතනයක සේවය කරන පුද්ගලයෙකු පසුගිය සැප්තැම්බර් 15 වනදා ෆේස්බුක් හරහා අදුනාගෙන ඇති අතර ඒ ඔස්සේ දිවා රෑ ඔහු සමග චැට් කර ඇත.

ඉන්පසුව ගුරුවරියගේ දුරකථන අංකය ඉල්ලා ගත් එම පුද්ගලයා දුරකථනය ඔස්සේද මිතුදම තවත් තර කරගත්තේය.

කෙසේ නමුත් මේ සියලු දේට ගත වුයේ දවස් දෙකක් වැනි සුළු කාලයකි.සැප්තැම්බර් 17 වනදා වන විට ඔවුන් දෙදෙනා පෙම්වතුන් වී සිටි අතර එම පුද්ගලයාගේ ඉල්ලීම මත එම ගුරුවරිය බම්බලපිටිය ප්‍රදේශයේ ලගුම්හලකට ගොස් ඇත.

එහිදී එම පුද්ගලයා ඇයට නිරුවත් කොට ජායාරුප ගැනීමට උත්සාහකර ඇති අතර තමා විවාහ කරගන්න පොරොන්දුව උඩ ඇය එම කටයුත්තට ඉඩ දී ඇත.

එම සිදුවීමෙන් පසුව කාලය ගෙවී යද්දී එම පුද්ගලයා විසින් ගුරුවරියට තර්ජනයකොට ඇත්තේ එම පින්තුර ෆේස්බුක් වෙත එක් කරන බවත් එය වැලක්වීමට නම් තමාට මුදල් ලබාදෙන ලෙසත්ය.

මෙම ගුරුවරිය විටින් විට එම පුද්ගලයාට ජායාරුප ෆේස්බුක් වෙත එක් කිරීම වැලක්වීමට රුපියල් 11,000 ක මුදලක් ලබාදී ඇත.

පසුව ගුරුවරිය විසින් මේ පිළිබඳව කොළඹ අපරාධ විමර්ශන අංශයට පැමිණිල්ලක් ගොනුකොට ඇති අතර අදාළ පුද්ගලයාගේ දුරකථන අංක ඔස්සේ ඔහු පිලිබඳ පරීක්ෂණ කටයුතු සිදුකරමින් පවතී.

Facebook Video Chat හදුන්වා දෙයි!

අළුත්ම සමාජ වෙබ් අඩවිය වන google+ පිළිබදව Google සමාගම නිවේදනය කල පසු Facebook සමාජ වෙබ් අඩවිය ඔවුන් ගේ නවතම සේවාවන් තුලින් තම ග්‍රාහකයන් පිරිස වෙබ් අඩවිය වෙත බැද තබාගැනිමටඋත්සහ දරයි.

පසුගිය 6වන දින facebook සමාගම තම නවතම ගිවිසුම skype සමාගමත් සමග ඇතිකර ගත් පසු ඒ පිළිබදව තොරතුරු මහජනයට හෙලි කලහ. මෙම ගිවිසුම මගින් facebook වෙබ් අඩවිය තුළදි Live Video Chat සේවාව ග්‍රහකයන්ට අත්විදිමට හැකියාව ඇත.මෙය google+ වෙබ් අඩවියට එරෙහිව facebook සමාගම ගත් නවතම පියවරයි.

Facebook සමාගමට අනුව සියට 50ක්‌ම ග්‍රාහකයන් Group සේවාවන් බාවිතා කරනුයේ උත්සව සංවිධානය කිරිම වැනි අවස්‌ථා වලදී ය. Facebook සමාගමෙහි ප්‍රධානියා වන සකර්බ්‍ර්ග් පවසන පරිදි facebook වෙබ් අඩවියෙහි මිලියන 750ක පමණ ග්‍රාහක පිරිසක්‌ සිටී.නමුත් skype සමාගමෙහි ග්‍රාහක පිරිස මිලියන 145ක්‌ වන අතර මෙ මස 10වනදා සිට ලබා දෙන මෙම නවතම සේවාව තුළින් skype සමාගමෙහි ග්‍රාහක පිරිස වැඩිකර ගැනිමට ඔවුනට හැකියව ලැබේ.

Video Chat සේවාව ග්‍රාහකයන් ගේ broswer යට කෙලින්ම සම්බන්ධ කරන හෙයින් කිසිදු software වක්‌ download කිරිමට අවශ්‍ය නැත.

After the announcement of Google’s New Social networking site Google Plus, Facebook is trying to keep its users bound with its new services. On 06 August Facebook announced a deal with Skype that will add live video chat to the social networking site and marking the latest step-up in the battle against Google.

The group chat feature will let users chat with multiple friends at once by selecting "Add Friends to Chat." According to Facebook, 50 percent of users are using the Groups feature, for things like coordinating events. Zuckerberg said Facebook has hit a record of 750 million users. The new service, rolling out from 10^th August and that could be a huge boost for Skype, which currently has about 145 million regular users. This video chat will be integrated in the browser and there will be no need to download or install any other software.

Facebook, we all use it. Even your tuk-tuk driver is probably on it. It’s such a popular, useful social networking platform that it has attracted millions of users globally as well as in Sri Lanka. There are more than half a billion Facebook users globally and an estimated 2 million of them are Sri Lankans. That is, one in every ten Sri Lankans is on Facebook.


But just like anything else, Facebook is also easily abused. And it is all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Reports of cyber crimes, perverts and hacked profiles among other things have been around social networks for as long as social networking has existed. Many users have had some sort of unpleasant experience on Facebook at least once or twice. The very nature of social networking can unwittingly open you up to these dangers. Cyber criminals enjoy a huge amount of anonymity, can employ remote-operated programs and subversive tactics to access your information, and can be extremely hard and even impossible to trace.

23 year old Dinouk says that he had his Facebook profile hacked into several times. He kept changing his password but this was not keeping the hacker out. The worst part was that his hacker was someone that knew Dinouk closely. He would chat with Dinouk’s friends and talk to them pretending to be him or his girlfriend. Unable to figure out what to do, Dinouk made a complaint at the Computer Emergency Response Team, located at the BMICH, but did not receive much help. When he asked how he could go about tracking the hacker to his or her computer, he was told that to do that they would have to undergo a long and complicated process involving court orders from the United States with instructions to Facebook.

Sonali, a student, says that she opened a Facebook account when she was sixteen. Being a bit of an entrepreneur she started her own event management business that became quite successful. But soon her account was hacked by a person she knew and her password was changed. “He was using my name to do things for his benefit” she said adding that the security settings on Facebook were “quite weak.” “ I have many friends who have had fake accounts of them made on Facebook. It has become such a trend and I have not been on it since last year. It is not as safe as people think it is” she warns. Repeated attempts to contact Facebook to shut these profiles down have failed, and Sonali and her friends have now just given up.
Nimra, a marketing executive, has had a similar spate of problems since 2010. A fake profile with several of her pictures was created. When Nimra reported this to Facebook they took about two to three months to respond. “The pictures had been taken from my Facebook profile and that means it was someone on my friend list” says Nimra. After that incident happened yet another profile appeared with her name and picture on it. But that profile was soon changed by the person operating it and soon another face was substituted along with a name to replace Nimra’s. “I have now put everyone on a limited profile setting on Facebook” she says referring to the Facebook option where you can limit the information people have access to on your account.

The government’s computer crime division, the Computer Emergency Response Team, says that it has received over 400 Facebook related complaints. Its Chief Engineer Rohantha Palliyaguruge told The Sunday Leader “ We have stopped several fake accounts over the past few months. Most of these complaints are with regard to fake profiles; cases of harassment and slander; passwords being stolen and held for ransom etc.” He adds that the CERT has a direct link with Facebook USA that helps them get the job done faster.

The services the CERT offers are free of charge and they can be contacted directly by phone or e-mail. Palliyaguruge says that they are a semi-government organisation that comes under the purview of the Presidential Secretariat. Facebook crime is rampant around the world. Most of it involves the publication of photos, random harassment and abuse. Some of the more high profile cases enjoy widespread media attention. About 73 percent of all web servers in the US have been hit with some form of cyber crime. Facebook has been used in many cases abroad to glean information that have helped burglars break into houses and initiate other forms of more severe old fashioned crime using new age tactics.

CERT advocates protecting yourself from cyber crime as the best way to go about avoiding being a victim of it. Prevention is indeed better than cure, especially in a scenario like this where cures are harder to come by.

Sri Lankan Facebook users face threat of Internet hackers

Sri Lankan Facebook users are facing a threat of Internet hackers who pose as pretty girls or handsome men on Facebook to earn big money by hacking into email accounts and Facebook accounts and hold account-holders to ransom.

The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Team (SLCERT) has warned of an organized group of hackers acting in collusion and trying to carry out criminal activity for financial gain.

These cyber criminals are on the increase, Information Security Engineer of SLCERT Sri Lanka Rohana Palliyaguru told the Business Times.

In the past six months SLCERT has received 180 complaints from victims of cyber crime which also includes complaints from email users. The Criminal Investigation Department is investigating these complaints. According to the Computer Crimes Act No. 24 of 2007, such crimes are subject to a jail term of upto two years and a fine of upto Rs 3,000, or both.

Facebook has become a favourite hunting ground for hackers resulting in people with malicious intent searching for their victims within the Facebook network. Identity theft is the most common crime on Facebook where hackers create a fake profile after stealing the information from the Internet and use it to take advantage.

Hackers use a number of different techniques to make money out of Facebook, using stolen information, he said. The modus operandi of these hackers was changing passwords after hacking into Facebook profiles which prevents the owner of the respective Facebook profile from accessing his or her own account. The hackers are in the habit of demanding ransom from the Facebook owners whose accounts have been hacked to release the password or else face the consequence of destroying their reputation.

Once hackers enter a Facebook profile, they will be able change or alter anything endangering the reputation of the owner of the profile, Mr Palliyaguru added. He requested Facebook users not to accept a ‘friend’ request unless you are certain of his/her identity. “Don’t get influenced by the attractive photos or messages sent along with the request and don’t click on any links provided by unknown people,” he warned.

දැනට Facebook විසින් මෙම ගැටලුව නිරාකරනය කල බව පැවසුව එම ගැටලුව හේතුවෙන් Application වලට දෙන අවසරය (Access tokens) තුන්වන පාර්ෂව වලටද ලබා ගැනීමට හැකිවී තිබේ. Access tokens යනු ගෙදරට ඇතුලුවෙන්න ඇති අමතර යතුරු වැනිය. Access tokens යොදාගෙන ඔබේ Facebook ගිණූමේ ඇති chat, messages වැනි දෑ පවා කියවීමට තුන්වන පාර්ෂව වලට හැකිවෙ යි.

දැන් මෙම දත්ත කීදෙනෙකු ලග තිබෙනවාද පැවසුව නොහැකි වුවත් ඔබ දැන්ම Facebook හී SSL enable කොට, Password එක මාරු කරන්න. යම්කිසි Application එකක් SSL වල ක්‍රියාත්මක නොවේ. SSL වලින් ඉවත් වීමට යනවානම් එම Application එක බාවිතයෙන් වැලකෙන්න.
